By: Emily Konouchi | 2021 Board Member

Valentina Harper is a Venezuelan artist based in Nashville, TN. She worked as a graphic designer for 15 years before starting to create other arts and crafts and taking on a new profession as an artist and owner of Valentina Design.

Valentina's uplifting drawings and designs feature intricate details in her signature black ink and give a peek into her world of fantasies and dreams. We're so excited to have her join our panel at Oye Vecino LIVE on September 23!

Get to know Valentina

What are you working on right now?

Valentina Harper: I have a lot of projects going, and I’m focusing on an artist coaching service that’s launching soon. But I’m also excited to be working on the Oye Vecino LIVE invitation!

Why do you believe in TNJFON's mission to provide free or low-cost, compassionate immigration legal services to immigrants, educate the public about issues related to immigration and advocate for immigrant rights?

VH: As an immigrant, the most difficult part for me was understanding the immigration laws and navigating the legal path. It’s not only difficult, but it’s also expensive. I wish I knew organizations like TNJFON when I came to the U.S. in 2003.

The immigrant path is often difficult in many ways, and organizations such as TNJFON are extremely important to help and support immigrants. The organization also provides the opportunities for citizens to help, advocate and show empathy to their immigrant neighbors, which we need now more than ever.

What are you looking forward to most at Oye Vecino LIVE?

VH: I’m looking forward to connecting with the community and learning about more opportunities to help.
